Recently, the whole cast of Chenzhou Folk Opera Troupe held a ceremony to start rehearsal of grand opera "The Chen's Family House" in the rehearsal hall, a gift for the 90th anniversary of the Southern Hunan Uprising on March.

The opera "The Chen's Family House" is based on the background of the Southern Hunan Uprising led by Zhu De and Chen Yi in 1928, and the story about the attitude changing of three generations in the Chen's family house facing the land revolution movement at that time to show the revolution and Chenzhou people's spirit of proactive support and devotion for revolution. The opera, written to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Southern Hunan uprising and the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Chenzhou Folk Opera Troupe, is of great significance and has been listed as a sponsored project of China National Arts Fund in 2017.
