On January 15th, Liao Manzhu, Director of Chenzhou Forestry Bureau, told the reporter that Chenzhou forest park construction and tourism developed rapidly and 540 million yuan was invested in the construction of various projects in 2017. More than 6 million visitors visited the park during the year, more than 3 billion yuan of the forest tourism comprehensive income.

As of end of 2017, 9 forest parks at or above the provincial level had been built in Chenzhou, of which 8 national parks and 1 provincial park, with 1.285 million mu of forest park management area. The forest coverage of Chenzhou forest park and state-owned forest farm is more than 90%, with good ecological environment, less 2 hours driving away from Chenzhou city.

In recent years, Chenzhou City has developed ideas and measures to promote the construction of forest parks and tourism development, and enhanced the awareness of the parks by setting up publicity advertisements at the high-speed railway platform, organizing tourism promotion meetings and China Forest Tourism Festival, strengthening tourism network marketing, etc. For example, the Mangshan Mountain and Jiulong River Forest Park hold mountain cycling events every year, Nanling Botanical Garden holds the Tulip Festival and Sunflower Exhibition, Swan Mountain hosts the forest camp activities, etc., which have made the influence of forest tourism brand expanding. At the same time, the city has launched a pilot project to promote forest tourism and many forest parks have launched special tourism products such as self-cultivation tours, outdoor riding tours, ecological experience tours, adventure hunting tours and so on.
