On the morning of January 17th, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor Liu Zhiren met with Fu Jieming, Consul General of the US Consulate General in Wuhan, who investigated in Chenzhou. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on promoting cultural exchanges, trade exchanges and cooperation in other fields.

Liu Zhiren said that Chenzhou City is a famous cultural city with a history of more than 2000 years, as well as a vibrant modern and open city. Chenzhou is very willing to give play to its own advantages and characteristics, actively promote friendly exchanges and cooperation with the United States in a wider range of fields and seek opportunities for mutually beneficial and win-win development. This exchange will promote closer relations, deeper friendship, more frequent exchanges and more extensive cooperation between China and the United States, making new contributions to the building of a new type of great power relationship between China and the United States. He hoped that the two sides will strengthen cooperation in education, culture, tourism, trade and other fields, and the US Consulate General in Wuhan will introduce outstanding American enterprises to Chenzhou, so that more Chenzhou enterprises can go to the United States and achieve win-win development.

Fu Jieming briefed the US Consulate General in Wuhan. He said that the US Consulate General in Wuhan provides emergency services to US citizens in the territorial area, and promotes trade, enhance business cooperation and expand cultural and educational exchanges between the United States and Central China. The new US Consulate General in Wuhan is under construction and will have more functions of providing visas and other services to the residents in Wuhan and surrounding areas. The Public Affairs Section will hold a series of cultural exchange activities such as concerts and photo exhibitions of United States National Park. The US Consulate General in Wuhan is also willing to build bridges between the United States and Chenzhou to promote deeper cooperation in mine management, environmental protection, soil remediation, health industry, trade and other areas.
