In 2017, Guidong County made full efforts to create the global tourism development blueprint focusing on the green hills and clear waters, negative oxygen ion health, red culture, simple folk style and green food. During the year, the receiving tourists and the comprehensive income of tourism in the county increased by 26.8% and 26.2%, respectively from the same period last year; at the end of last year, Guidong County's global tourism construction (the first phase of PPP project) was officially signed and landed, the total investment of 1.214 billion yuan, completely improving the infrastructure construction and landscape of scenic spots in the county.

Since last year, Guidong County has set up the global tourism pattern with creating the "National Global Tourism Demonstration County" as the overall focus, the county town as the center, the beautiful rural tourism as the point, Pingru High-speed and G106 main roads as the lines, Satian and Sidu provincial demonstration towns, Zhaiqian flower and seedling characteristic town, Datang ancient towns and clear springs, Qiaotou tea characteristic town and others as the focus.

At the same time, Qiyunfeng National Forest Park, mass line birthplace, Red Army Long March first place, Sanqian Lake Scenic spot, Santai Mountain Park, Guidong Botanical Garden, Wanyang Acacia Grass Mountain, tourism marking system, urban and rural transit integration, and other tourism projects have formed a global tourism economic development circle, forming the famous tourism destination suitable for living, business, travel, life, and summer heat.

At present, Guidong County is sprinting to get rid of poverty through tourism development and turning the lucid waters and lush mountains into invaluable assets.

Last year, the county planned with "one village, one appearance", positioned products with "one village, one product", formulated strategies with "one village, one policy", trained technology with "one village, one skill", leaded culture with "one village, one soul", drove enterprises with "one village, one base" and built the country with "one village, one scene". The county also insisted on the "six models" of driving tourism poverty alleviation with core scenic spots, characteristic tourism towns, characteristic tourism villages, intelligent tourism and tourism enterprises, a number of characteristic tourist attractions coming out.

At the same time, the county implemented the "tourism + new urbanization project" to promote the cities and towns construction in accordance with the requirements of urban parks; fully implemented the "tourism + agriculture industrialization project" to turn the agricultural industrial base into an agricultural sightseeing park; fully implemented the "tourism + new industrialization project" to package the whole county's industrial agricultural products into tourist commodities; fully implemented the "tourist + transportation project" to make all the roads in 113 villages (communities) to reach the standard of unobstructed traffic; opened the rural passenger transport lines and built 11 rural stations in 94 villages (communities) with the county government subsidy of 1.32 million yuan every year, convenient for the masses and tourists.

With the "tourism" as a combination point, Guidong County has continuously improved the construction of the "tourism + culture" "tourism + industry", "tourism + products", "tourism + technology", "tourism + market" and "tourism + Internet" and other information sharing platforms, and promoted the development of intelligent tourism with creating national ecommerce demonstration counties as an opportunity.

According to the related responsible person of Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau of Tourism and Foreign Affairs in Guidong County, the global tourism construction PPP project (the first phase) was formally signed and landed, focusing on building three major tourist attractions of Hunan Bamianshan National Nature Reserve, Hunan Qiyunfeng National Forest Park and Wanyang Mountain (Hankoucao Mountain) Ecotourism Area, and other 13 subprojects. It was expected to take three years to make the tourism hard environment and soft environment of Guidong County to be further promoted by leaps and upgrades.
