Yongxing County is a big agricultural county and Yongxing candy orange is the county's dominant industry with the planting area of 142,000 mu. In order to cultivate a group of new professional farmers who have culture, know technology and good management and provide the talents support for the healthy development of Yongxing candy orange industry. From 22nd to 28th, January 2018, Yongxing County Agriculture Bureau held a new vocational farmer training for the modern citrus industry to 50 people, who was the major grower of candy orange in the county and the head and backbone of the professional cooperative of the candy orange. The training course lasted 15 days, divided into two stages, and the first stage was theoretical training for 7 days (January 22nd-28th); the second stage was the on-site training instruction for 8 days( will be arranged from March to June in 2018 according to different agricultural seasons).

In order to promote the production of the Yongxing candy orange standard park, the training course employed the Yongxing County Agriculture Bureau, the County Association of Candy Orange Plantation, the County Bureau of Market and Quality Supervision, Yongxing Yuanyi Information Technology Co., Ltd. and other related agricultural technology and agricultural products marketing professionals to teach. The training content included the standard production, harvesting, storage, marketing, brand building, quality and safety management, and follow-up management and whole industrial chain of national geographical indication protection product brands, and the training courses mainly included the construction of candy orange standard park, modern orchard cultivation technology, citrus pest and green control technology, identification and control of citrus Huanglongbing, collection and storage of candy orange, brand building of candy orange, marketing, formula fertilization, quality and safety of agricultural products, e-commerce of agricultural products, quality and etiquette of new professional farmers, etc. During the training, although the weather was cold, the students' enthusiasm for learning was high. They insisted on attending classes on time every day, while listening and memorizing, and interacted with their teachers after class. Many students said that we must constantly learn planting technology and advanced management concept, and take the orange as the family's enrichment industry to make a great contribution to the Yongxing candy orange industry since we have chosen to be engaged in the planting of candy orange.
