On February 7th, the head of Chenzhou Development and Reform Commission reported that Chenzhou City had more than 2.2 billion kwh of electricity generated by new energy sources in 2017, an increase of nearly 30%. The grid-connected installed capacity of new energy in the whole city has accounted for 22.9 % in the whole province, among which the wind power machines accounted for 38.7 % of the total grid-connected installed capacity in the whole province.

The wind power project is the main force of the new energy in Chenzhou. There are 22 wind power projects to grid power generation, the grid-connected installed capacity of 952,300 kw, which generated 1.9 billion kwh in 2017. In 2017, 15 wind power projects in Chenzhou were included into the provincial wind power development and construction program, with a total installed capacity of 670,000 kw. At the same time, the photovoltaic power generation project in the city has advanced rapidly. In 2017, 2 commercial photovoltaic power stations achieved grid power generation, with a scale of 39,800 kw.

In order to do a good job of photovoltaic poverty alleviation, Chenzhou made every effort to promote the project construction. The photovoltaic poverty alleviation pilot project in Chenzhou has been completed and put into production, with a scale of 36,000 kw and more than 15 million kwh of electricity generation in 2017. In addition, the city has 2 biomass power generation projects to achieve grid power generation, a total of 300 million kwh of electricity generation in 2017.
