The Ministry of Education announced the "List of National Defense Education Characteristic Schools in 2017" and 15 schools in our city were honored in the list.

It was reported that the national defense education characteristic school construction is assessed on the basis of the independent declaration of the schools and the recommendation of the provincial education administrative departments. After a comprehensive determination, Beijing University and other 4382 schools were listed as the national defense education characteristic schools. The 15 schools listed in our city include the Xiangnan University, No. 2 Middle School of Chenzhou City, Xiangnan Middle School, No. 2 Middle School of Yongxing County, No.1 Middle School of Yizhang County, No.5 Middle School of Jiahe County, No.3 Middle School of Chenzhou City, Zixing Vocational Secondary School, Guiyang Vocational and Technical Education School, Yizhang Secondary Vocational and Technical School, Guidong Secondary Vocational and Technical School, Chenzhou Comprehensive Vocational Secondary School, No.9 Middle School of Yizhang County, No. 42 Primary School of Chenzhou City and Xiangnan Primary School.

It was understood that the selected schools will receive policy support, including national defense education and teaching, backbone teacher training, roving teaching, experience exchange, student activities and so on. According to the requirements, the selected schools should give full play to the exemplary role of characteristic schools in national defense education, accelerate the integration of national defense education and school education and teaching, and form rich and diverse educational forms and teaching methods to comprehensively raise the level of national defense education in schools.
