At the beginning of the new semester, Guidong County Food and Drug Industry and Commerce Quality Supervision Bureau, cooperated with local education and other departments, and carried out law enforcement inspection on food safety work in and around all primary and secondary schools to ensure food safety for teachers and students.

In early 2017, the county formulated and issued the "Key work arrangements for food safety in Guidong County in 2017", "Implementation opinions of the Guidong government on strengthening food safety" and other documents. In accordance with the working mechanism of "unified government leadership, departmental guidance and coordination, and joint action by all parties", the county has fully fulfilled the government's function and played the role of "bridge" between departments to form a food safety management pattern with unified coordination, clear responsibility, joint management and efficient operation.

In 2017, the county focused on the supervision of key time periods, key regions, key varieties and key links, and carried out the special rectification actions for the unlicensed management in rural areas, food safety in campus and surrounding areas, and formula milk powder for infants and young children, imported food, online food, etc. according to the characteristics of food consumption. They have inspected 2132 food management units, dispatched 712 law enforcement personnel, investigated and disposed 25 potential food safety hazards, and given 38 orders to rectify and correct the situation; inspected 2 licensed rice noodle production enterprises, ordered 1 enterprise to rectify, and investigated and dealt with 1 case of unlicensed rice noodle production. In the same year, the county has completed the risk grading assessment for the food production enterprises in the area.

At the same time, Guidong County insisted on both supervision and publicity, and organized 2 large-scale propaganda activities of food safety centralized propaganda and food safety propaganda week in 2017. They focused on the hot and difficult issues of food safety that people are most concerned about, propagated food safety laws and regulations, and explained the knowledge of identifying fake and inferior food to consumers on the spot through fake and shoddy food exhibitions, publicity panels, materials distribution, typical cases disclosure, etc., and received advice and complaints from consumers. The activities have received more than 2800 consultation and distributed 13000 copies of publicity materials, receiving good consumer praise and good publicity results.
