Since 2013, Dongjiang Lake Passenger Transport has been operated by Zixing Dongjiang Lake Water Passenger Transport Co., Ltd and Zixing Dongjiang Lake Anda Water Passenger Transport Co., Ltd. Because the two companies were relatively independent, there were management and services difficulties. At the same time, Dongjiang Lake tourist boats had only traffic function and the hardware facilities and service management level were far behind the requirements of 5A class tourist spots. Under the leadership of Zixing Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, the two companies were formally merged and reorganized into Hunan Dongjiang Lake Water passenger Transport Co., Ltd this year after more than four years of efforts.

It was reported that 2018 is the key year for Zixing City to carry out the strategy of "tourism development" and also the key year for the review of Dongjiang Lake National 5A Tourism Scenic Area. The newly established passenger transport company has realized the "four unification" of management, propaganda, service and scheduling, which can further strengthen the management of Dongjiang Lake tourist boats, enhance the quality and image of Dongjiang Lake tourism, and meet the requirements of Dongjiang National 5A Tourist Scenic Area.

The company officials said that the reorganized company will speed up the pace of updating and improving tourist boats, constantly improve the grade and quality of tourist boats, and gradually build Dongjiang Lake tourist boats from a single means of transportation into an integrated tourism project integrating leisure, sightseeing, entertainment and shopping, widen the industrial chain, increase added value, and help economic and social development.
