Recently, the author learned from the Zixing Agricultural Machinery Bureau that the 500 mu of provincial mechanized rape flower demonstration area in Liuhuawan Village, Sandu Town was expected to yield 300 Jin of rapeseed per mu after nearly half a year of meticulous cultivation.
According to a staff of the Agricultural Machinery Bureau, Hunan Provincial Agricultural Machinery Bureau selected 25 demonstration districts from all counties and cities in the province as the mechanized rape flower demonstration areas after public declaration, step by step establishment and other processes in accordance with the requirements of the Hunan Provincial agricultural machinery demonstration extension and service capacity building project in 2018, in which Zixing demonstration district was the only provincial demonstration district in Chenzhou City.
Mechanized production can significantly save costs and increase efficiency. A direct-seeding machine can complete 7 operations of the shallow ploughing, stubble removal, weeding, ditching, fertilization, sowing and soil mulching, directly seeding 6-8 mu/ h and 40-60 mu per day, which is 12 times as much as artificial sowing and 50-60 times as much as artificial transplanting. A rape harvester can reap 40-50 mu a day, as much as a day's work of more than 50 workers. The mechanized seeding can save about 150 yuan per mu compared with manual work and mechanized harvesting can save more than 100 yuan per mu. A mu of rape field can produce about 150 kilograms of seeds and can create a net income of more than 600 yuan for farmers after processing into vegetable oil for sale.
In recent years, in order to popularize mechanized rapeseed production technology, Zixing city has attached importance to the project drive and has set up 2 rape mechanized technology popularization, training and demonstration bases in Liuhuawan village of Sandu Town and Liaojiang Village of Liaojiang Town respectively, which promoted the whole mechanized process of rapeseed production in the whole city through the adoption of more technical training, the extensive publicity and application of agricultural machinery, agricultural cooperatives demonstration and popularization and so on.
