On April 10, Rucheng No. 1 Middle School received a good news from the Admission Office of Xi'an Jiaotong University that Zhu Qingmin, a graduate of the middle school and the model team of Jiaotong University, won 2 individual champions of the design reply link and carrying capacity in the 2018 SAE Aero Design Competition, held in Los Angeles, USA, and won the world championship with the first overall score to win the honor for the motherland, Jiaotong University and mother school of Rucheng No. 1 Middle School.

Zhu Qingmin, a graduate of Rucheng No. 1 Middle School in 2016, is currently majoring in aircraft design and engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University. The SAE Aero Design Competition, founded by the American Institute of Automotive Engineers and Lockheed Martin in 1986, is a competition for college students in the field of aeronautical engineering. Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Dassault, ANSYS and other aviation famous enterprises provide the support and the sponsor for the event.
