On April 13th, a list of the top 50 candidates for the selection of Hunan's top 10 cultural landmarks, sponsored by the Hunan Provincial Cyberspace Affairs Commission and Hunan Cultural Department and undertook by the Hunan Rednet New Media Group, was officially announced. The online voting began on April 16 and the Suxian Temple in Chenzhou City was shortlisted.

The selection of the top 10 cultural landmarks in Hunan Province is one of the main activities of the 6th Hunan Network Cultural Festival, which aims to create a group of famous cultural landmarks in Hunan Province. After being examined and approved by the cultural administrative departments in the landmarks' locations and recommended by the cultural administrative departments of the cities, more than 120 units in the province participated in the declaration.More than 90 units met the requirements of the declaration and entered the initial evaluation after the summary and preliminary review of the organizing committee office for declaration units.

In the initial evaluation stage, according to the evaluation requirements of the related activities, the expert group on the selection activities adhered to the principles of fairness and justice, and made a comprehensive consideration from 5 aspects of the cultural connotation, geographical indications, design aesthetics, operation quality and brand influence to highlight the cultural and landmark evaluation of the landmarks declared. The cultural nature mainly considers its historical and humanistic value, and the landmark mainly considers its artistic value, volume scale, social influence and social evaluation.

A total of 50 candidates for Hunan's top 10 cultural landmarks were selected, covering the representative cultural landmarks of cities and states of the provinces after initial evaluation.

It was reported that the election of the top 10 cultural landmarks in Hunan Province opened an online voting channel and the general public can vote for the favorite Hunan cultural landmarks from April 16th through the official website of the Hunan Provincial Cultural Department, the WeChat of "Culture Hunan", the Rednet, the special pages of Moment, and so on. Each ID is limited to vote one time per day and can vote for up to 20 candidate landmarks at a time. The voting channel will be closed at 17:30 on April 30th.
