Zixing City Welcomes 23rd World Reading Day

On April 22, Zixing City held the "4.23" World Reading Day and the 5th Children's Reading Festival activities in 2018, and more than 2,000 children and armed police officers and soldiers jointly welcomed the 23rd World Reading Day.

 

The main activities included the classical recitation, public library law, national defense education, reading experience, hand-painted kites, pottery, jigsaw puzzles, stone paintings, etc., which aimed to present the reading activities with more interesting, interactive and thinking to children, further construct the platform for children to learn and communicate, promote the new fashion of the whole society to read, and set off a new upsurge of reading.

 

At the scene, the officers and soldiers of the Armed Police of Zixing City, studied the national defense knowledge together with young children. The children conscientiously studied and actively participated in the questions and answers of the "National Defense Education Thought", and appreciated the recitation of the poem "the Green of National Defense" and the performance of the "Military Kid". They all said that the activities have enhanced the awareness of national defense knowledge and national defense education, receiving a good education in patriotism.  

 

In front of the reading experience booths, the children sat on the ground, explored in the sea of books and enjoyed the fun of reading. At the scene, the citizens could apply for the library card for free and borrow books from the city library and the 24-hour self-service library.

 

In recent years, Zixing City has taken "4.23" World Reading Day and Children's Reading Festival as an opportunity to carry forward the concept of respecting knowledge and advocating civilization, cultivate the reading habits of the whole people, and create a good learning atmosphere in the whole city, receiving a positive response from the general public.
