5000 Photographic Works Collected

The 6th China (Hunan) International Mineral Gem Show (CMGS) will be held in Chenzhou City from May 18 to 22. The author learned from the Organizing Committee that the first Global Mineral Crystal Photography Contest and the Fine Photography Exhibition, as one of the five major theme activities of the 6th CMGS, have collected more than 5000 photographic works so far. Next, the shortlisted works will be selected.

The photography contest works with "Minerals" as the theme, are divided into documentary and art categories for the selection. During the CMGS, the selected fine works will be displayed to show the rare mineral crystals and the rich and colorful minerals, so that more people will know, understand and appreciate the mineral crystals.

"The CMGS has been successfully held for five years and has had great influence at home and abroad. It is hoped that the domestic and foreign mineral gem lovers will have a better understanding of the mineral crystal culture, better publicize Chenzhou City, and create a new cultural card for the mineral crystal capital of Chenzhou through this photo contest." Cheng Jianrong, General Manager of Chenzhou International Mineral and Gem Expo Co., Ltd. said:" The famous photographers from home and abroad will be invited to select the shortlisted works and the expert team will select the top prize, gold prize, silver prize, bronze prize and winner works. At the same time, we will also prepare to hold a touring photographic exhibition of mineral crystals in major cities in the country to promote the CMGS and Chenzhou's mineral culture through the models of works and exhibition."

It was understood that the photography contest will be separated from the CMGS and hold separately next year. Next year's photography contest will initially be held between July and August and the fine photography, mobile phone photography, microphotography and other works can participate in the contest. The work content will be more extensive and all human geomorphology photography works related to the mine can participate in the contest.
