The 6th China (Hunan) International Mineral Gem Show (CMGS) will be held in our city from May 18 to 22. The reporter learned from the Organizing Committee that the first Global Mineral Crystal Photography Contest and the Fine Photography Exhibition, as one of the five major theme activities of the 6th CMGS, have collected more than 5000 photographic works, of which 102 were shortlisted in the final.

The photography contest works with "Minerals" as the theme, are divided into documentary and art categories for the selection. After nearly 2 months of selection, more than 5000 photographic works have been collected, of which 102 works were shortlisted in the final.

Mo Yaobo,a judge of the contest, said:"There are so many photography works of the mineral collectors from Guangxi, Yunnan and Anhui Provinces, but also from the United States and Mexico."

Yao Zhi, who runs a photo agency in Chenzhou, has also organized nearly 10 photographers to take part in the contest to experience the unique charm of mineral crystals.

Yao Zhi, Vice President of Hunan Photography Industry Association, said: "We are very challenging and new to photograph the minerals."

During the CMGS, the Organizing Committee will invite the famous photographers from home and abroad to select the shortlisted works and the expert team to select the top prize, gold prize, silver prize, bronze prize and winner works. At the same time, they will also prepare to hold a touring photographic exhibition of mineral crystals in major cities in the country to promote the CMGS and Chenzhou's mineral culture through the models of works and exhibition."

Mo Yaobo said: "The finals will begin on the 10th of next month. The works will be handed in immediately after the scene shooting, not allowing the late revision, which will show the photographers' shooting technology and understanding of the minerals."
