The reporter learned from Chenzhou International Mineral Gems Expo co., Ltd that the Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeonotology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Shenzhen Xiexiang Culture Communication Co., Ltd. were invited to hold large-scale interactive popular science activities at the site of the 6th CMGS. The large number of interactive science popularization activities will not only glut the visitors’ eyes, but also understand the stories behind the mineral gemstones.

The activities are divided into 3 main exhibition areas, B013 on the first floor, B019 and B020 on the first floor of the Convention and Exhibition Center and the North Square of the Exhibition Center, covering an area of nearly 900 square meters. There are fossil hunters, little scientists, science Taobao, colorful yuhua stone, VR science interaction, micro-world, Mars exploration, lost planet, if the national treasure can speak, little printer, I design "home" for cultural relics, gold-seeking experience, "A gift of lava", unfading paintings, finishing touches, etc. in the activities area.

Unlike the previous CMGS, the 6th CMGS will combine the "VR virtual reality technology" with the "interactive science popularization". Deng Sixia, a staff of Chenzhou International Mineral Gems Expo co., Ltd, introduced that the "VR virtual reality technology" is a highlight of the science popularization activities. Through VR technology, the formation of mineral stones is vivid, image, interesting and intelligent to present multi dimension scene, which is more intuitive and vivid than simple picture and text description.

At present, the construction of the 3 major science exhibition areas is in an orderly manner, expected to be completed on May 16. With the increasing influence of the Expo, the scale of popular science activities is gradually expanded. Deng Sixia said, "While the CMGS was built as a brand event, popular science activities also began to grow. Through the platform of the CMGS, more scientific knowledge will be brought to the public, which can not only train the children's practical and thinking ability, and improve the scientific and cultural quality of the whole people. Multiple parent-child activities in the exhibition area are also an effective way to promote parent-child relations."
