Ouyang Shaorong has been engaged in jade carving for nearly 30 years and won the title of Master of Jade carving in Hunan Province in 2017 because of his skillful and profound works. In recent years, his jade works have won prizes in exhibitions at all levels.

It was reported that the "Divine Carving Award" is the only provincial professional awards of the jewelry, jade and ornamental stones in Hunan Province.

The golden prize works "Awake" depicts the look of clasping hands and disillusionment of Bodhidharma through the carving of emerald. The emerald has natural violet and pale cyan, and he carved the violet party into the head of the Bodhidharma and the cyan part into the Kasaya. He used simple lines to outline Bodhidharma's body and clothing, and intricately carved Bodhidharma's face, with dignified personage and serene look, deeply infatuated.

The works "Pure" used the emerald ice species, a little Avalokiteshvara carved in the outline of a Buddha's head. The whole works is pure and transparent and all from the material to the content express a kind of pure and impeccable meaning.
