Yongxing County is a national industrialization base of rare metals recycling and utilization, and recovers 7 tons of gold, 2100 tons of silver and 200,000 tons of other non-ferrous metals from the "three wastes" each year. The rare metals industry has made important contribution to local economic development, but also brought environmental pollution. Last year, Yongxing County received 7 cases from the Central Environmental Protection Inspectorate. Taking the implementation of rectification and reform as an opportunity, the county launched an all-out battle against environmental pollution, shut down 107 polluting enterprises and dismantled 110 chimneys according to law. At present, the rare metal enterprises in the county have been integrated into 30 modern enterprises through the promotion of enterprise merger and reorganization.

At the same time, Yongxing County has vigorously guided enterprises to develop and apply advanced production technology, and took the road of intensive processing to realize the green development of the industry. Last year, Dongchen Company and Hesheng Company cooperated with the Provincial Institute of Nonferrous Metals and Central South University respectively to develop the "closed oxygen enriched negative pressure high efficiency smelting furnace", " Oxygen enriched side blowing intensified smelting furnace" and other new technology and equipment, which were included in the recommended catalogue of advanced and applicable technologies for cleaner production in key heavy metal industries by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The county also has taken the creation of the national sustainable development and innovation demonstration area as the starting point, and joined scientific research institutes to set up a research and development center for rare metal recycling economy to speed up the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. At present, 13 enterprises in the county have been recognized as national high-tech enterprises, and the bismuth alloy, palladium and other more than 30 deep processing products have been recognized as environmentally friendly, scientific and technological products.

Last year, the value added of high-tech products of rare metals in Yongxing County increased by 17.5% compared with the previous year, and the high-precision new products accounted for more than 50% of the total sales income of rare metal products. In the first quarter of this year, the added value of high-tech products of rare metals increased by more than 20%, and the total import and export volume of the county increased by 166.38 % over the same period last year.
