On the morning of June 21th, the opening ceremony of the "Young Silicon Valley" Maker Classroom was held in the City No.6 Middle School, which was the first completed and inaugurated "Young Silicon Valley" Maker Classroom in the country in 2018. Gu Xiulian, Vice Chairman of the 10th NPC Standing Committee, and Director of China Cares for the Next Generation Working Committee, Yang Taibo, former Deputy Director of the Provincial People's Congress Standing, and Yi Pengfei, Municipal Party Secretary and Chairman of the Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee, attended the ceremony.
Launched in 2017, the "Young Silicon Valley" Maker Education Public Welfare Program is aimed to donate money to build the "Young Silicon Valley" Maker Classrooms to the qualified kindergartens, schools, academy of juvenile sciences and youth activity centers in China, train science and technology teachers, organize the exchanges of experience, present the achievements and other activities. By 2020, the project will plan to donate 1,000 "Young Silicon Valley" maker education demonstration classrooms and build 100 educational centers, in which the 23 demonstration classrooms planned to be built in Hunan Province in 2018 will be settled in Chenzhou City.

The Chenzhou Municipal China Cares for the Next Generation Working Committee at all levels should seize the opportunity, forge ahead and turn the implementation of the "Young Silicon Valley" project into a powerful driving force to do a good job of caring for the next generation. The "Young Silicon Valley" project implementation school should strive to make good use of and manage the maker classroom well, so that it can become a platform for disseminating scientific knowledge and scientific spirit, promoting quality education and science popularization education, and training innovative spirit and innovative ability, and make a contribution to bring up more and more new talents in line with the needs of the times and social development.

At the opening ceremony, the first batch of pilot projects in Hunan, Chongqing, Guizhou, Gansu, Jiangxi and Qinghai provinces were awarded the "Artificial Intelligence Education Practice Bases" of the State Key Laboratory of Computer Architecture; Chenzhou No.6 Middle School was awarded the "Information Technology Education Practice Base" of the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
After the opening ceremony, the first batch of provincial participants of the pilot project also held an exchange of experiences and visited the "Young Silicon Valley" Maker Classroom in the No.6 Middle School.
