On June 27, the "Xiangshen Juvenile Maritime School" co-founded by Hunan MSA (Maritime Safety Administration)and Shenzhen MSA was officially established in the Huangcao Town Center Primary School of Zixing City, which was the Hunan's first "Juvenile Maritime School" according to Hunan MSA.

It was understood that the "Juvenile Maritime School" is the landing platform of the "Water Traffic Safety Knowledge into Campus" activity jointly carried out by the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Education in the whole country, aiming at disseminating knowledge of water safety, marine environmental protection, maritime land and so on to the majority of primary and middle school students, and promoting the awareness of water safety and marine environmental protection among primary and middle school students.

The surface area of Dongjiang Lake in Zixing City is 160 square kilometers, the primary and middle school students have more chances of hydrophilic wading, and their safety consciousness is still weak, which is easy to cause drowning accident. Hunan MSA and Shenzhen MSA jointly established the "Xiangshen Juvenile Maritime School" to provide an important platform for better popularizing the knowledge of water traffic safety, strengthening and cultivating the awareness of water traffic safety and water environment protection of young people in Zixing City.

Next, Zixing city will take "Juvenile Maritime School" as the carrier, set up the specialized teaching staff, formulate the corresponding teaching material and promote the standardization, institutionalization, long-term effect and brand of "Juvenile Maritime School". At the same time, Zixing City will also continue to expand the social practice activities of water transportation safety and marine environmental protection knowledge, effectively enhance the awareness of water safety among primary and secondary school students, upgrade the safety skills, popularize marine knowledge, and achieve the good effect of educating a child, influencing a family and driving the whole society to promote the development of "Juvenile Maritime School" in Hunan Province.

After the opening ceremony, the Shenzhen MSA awarded the flag of "Xiangshen Juvenile Maritime School" to the Huangcao Town Central Primary School, and the Hunan MSA awarded the flag and gave the "Water Traffic Safety Knowledge" reading books and extracurricular books to the "Water Traffic Safety Knowledge into Campus" propaganda team of the Zixing MSA. Through multimedia demonstrations, animated short films, case studies, interactive demonstrations, and other teaching methods, Zixing MSA workers also explained to the students the water safety standards, water self-rescue measures, marine environmental protection knowledge, and so on, and showed the students how to wear lifejackets and lifebuoys correctly.
