On July 11, the 18th Wanhuayan Watermelon Festival, which lasted five days, was successfully concluded. The 18 ℃ cool summer cave and many colorful and interesting watermelon theme games attracted thousands of tourists.

Wu Yuehan, Director of Publicity and Marketing Department of Wanhuayan Scenic Spot Management Office, said the Watermelon Festival this year was mainly to help poor farmers, hoping that the Watermelon Festival will continue to be held in order to help more poor melon farmers get rid of poverty and become rich by selling watermelons.

In order to better prepare for the festival, Wanhuayan Scenic Spot purchased more than 50,000 kg watermelon from the Tanshan Community in Beihu District, directly increasing the income of more than 120,000 yuan for the farmers and indirectly driving the farmers around the scenic area to increase the income of more than 200,000 yuan. On the evening of July 6, 3000 yuan was also raised by auction at the festival to help 15 poor households in Tanshan Community.

The Wanhuayan Cultural Tourism Watermelon Festival has been held for 18 consecutive years, which is held every July during watermelon harvest season, and has become a new local folk custom.
