On August 3, 2018 Hunan Youth Campus Football League junior middle school finals began in Linwu County, the National Youth Campus Football Pilot County, which is the county's first time to host the event.

Nearly 500 athletes and 28 male and female teams from 14 cities and states across the province will compete at the Linwu football field until August 8. There are two items in the game: football basic skill test and 8-player football round robin. The football basic skill test consists of shooting around the pole and 40m race. Its result accounts for 30% of the total score of the competition, and the position of the 8-player football match accounts for 70% of the total score.

It was reported that in recent years, Linwu County Committee and the county government have closely focused on the work goal of "running a good satisfactory education for the people", comprehensively advanced the "1126" educational program, taken the development of school sports as an important part of the construction of strong counties in education, and vigorously developed sunshine sports activities, promoting vigorous development of youth sports in the county. In particular, Linwu County has conscientiously implemented the requirements of the national football reform, set up the Linwu County Campus Football Office, vigorously promoted the football movement in primary and secondary schools, gradually improved the conditions of campus football, built up and rebuilt 86 school football stadiums, and established 25 national campus football characteristic schools; established and perfected the system of campus football competitions, carried out campus football league matches, and successively set up 156 football teams at the school level and 6 football teams at the county level to promote the campus football popularization rate and the athletics level to raise substantially.

In 2015, Hunan Provincial Youth Campus Football pilot County was successfully established. In 2017, the Provincial Campus Football Winter Camp was successfully held and the National Youth Campus Football Pilot County was successfully established.
