On August 17th, Vice Mayor Li Wuyi led a team to inspect the Chenjiang River Basin. Li Wuyi and his team inspected the domestic sewage discharge, sewage treatment plant construction, agricultural pollution in the surrounding areas, river cleaning and so on in the sections of Aoshang Town and Xujiadong Town of Chenjiang River, and carefully inspected the river cleaning situation in Caojiaping Section of Bailudong Street of Chenjiang River.

Chenjiang River is the second-class tributary of Xiangjiang River and the first-class tributary of Leishui River, which originates from the top of Qitianling in Yizhang County, one of the Nanling Mountains. After washed out of the Jiangkou Canyon, it flows through Aoshang Town, Bailudong, Suxianling, Boliping, Xiameiqiao Street and Xujiadong Town, and flows into Cuijiang River (Leishui) from Wayaoping Village of Feitianshan Town, with the basin area of 286.7 square kilometers and the length of 88 kilometers (excluding Tongxin River, Yanquan River and Yangxi River).

Li Wuyi required that the relevant departments should make detailed rectification plans for the existing problems according to the characteristics of Chenjiang River Basin; should fulfill our responsibilities and earnestly do a good job in the construction of sewage treatment plants, the treatment of rural garbage, the management of water source protection areas, the control of rural non-point sources and the rectification of illegal sand factories; should strengthen the control of the source, insist on improving the quality of water environment as the core, take the interception of sewage as the key work, take effective measures to solve outstanding problems to gradually improve water quality and carry out water environment management in an orderly manner.
