On August 21, Liu Zhiwei, Municipal Party Secretary and Secretary of the Municipal Committee of Politics and Law Committe, led the heads of relevant departments to inspect the Tongxin River and Yanquan River, and conducted on-site scheduling.

At the subsequent forum, Liu Zhiwei listened to the progress of river regulation in recent years, understood the difficulties and problems existing at present, and arranged for the next stage of work. At present, the main sewage interception pipes of Tongxin River and Yanquan River have been basically built. After comprehensive treatment, the direct discharge of sewage has been fundamentally curbed. The feasibility study report and project establishment of black and odorous water treatment project of Yanquan River have been completed. The next step will be to basically eliminate the black and odor Tongxin River Basin, implement follow-up treatment projects and construct the sewerage pipelines as soon as possible.

Liu Zhiwei required that all departments should study and implement Xi Jinping's thought of ecological civilization, further improve the political position, grasp the key points, give full play to the key role of the "River Chief System" and manage and protect the river; should strengthen prevention and control at the source and take effective measures to reduce sewage discharge; should strengthen the management of black and odorous water bodies, strengthen the river bank cleaning work, and ensure that people regularly clean up river courses; should study and implement the responsibility system of "River Chief System", define the responsible person and responsibility time, and form a normal and routine river patrol work to ensure the quality and efficiency improvement of regulation work of Tongxin and Yanquan rivers.
