Visit the Peculiar-sharped Stone Museum
On September 15, the opening ceremony of the 2018 National Science Popularization Day was held at the Dongjiang Lake Peculiar-sharped Stone Museum. Hundreds of tourists and citizens experienced the unique charm of nature and the profound connotation of science and culture in watching the stones.
September 15th is the National Science Day and this year's theme was "Innovation leads the times, wisdom lights up life". On the site of the activities, Chenzhou Science and Technology Association awarded a license for the "Hunan Province Science Popularization Base" - Dongjiang Lake Peculiar-sharped Stone Museum. The pupils in Zixing City also shared their experience of taking part in the shooting of the peculiar-sharped stone popular science film on CCTV. Afterwards, tourists and citizens visited the Dongjiang Lake Peculiar-sharped Stone Museum, all kinds of natural and wonderful stones amazing people.
The Dongjiang Peculiar-sharped Stone Museum is divided into Stone Hall, Ancient Fossil Hall, Mineral Crystal Hall, Trading Auction Hall and Film and Television Conference Hall, which has collected and displayed more than 300 kinds of stones and more than 10,000 pieces of stones. It has been awarded National Land and Resources Science Popularization Base, National Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative Project Stone Appreciation Art Protection Demonstration Unit, China's Ornamental Stone Multifunctional Base. On September 10, a popular science feature film, shot against the background of Dongjiang Lake and Dongjiang Lake Peculiar-sharped Stone Museum, was broadcast on CCTV (CCTV14), and received a warm response nationwide.
In recent years,the Peculiar-sharped Stone Museum has actively explored a new way of deep integration of scientific popularization and cultural tourism, explored a model of "peculiar-sharped stones + popular science + tourism", blending and mutually beneficial and win-win situation, and popularized stone culture by creating tourist attractions. More and more people have learned about peculiar-sharped stone culture, enriched their knowledge reserves and promoted tourism development.
It was reported that from September 15 to 20, citizens can go to the Dongjiang Lake Peculiar-sharped Stone Museum for free to experience the charm of nature and enhance their scientific literacy.
