Recently, the author learned from the Hunan Provincial Bureau of Press, Publication, Radio and Television that the Beihu Bureau of Culture, Sports, Press and Publication won the "10th Anniversary Advanced Unit of Full-scale Construction of Farmer Bookstores in the Province", which is the only unit in Chenzhou City to receive this award. At the same time, Sanhe Village in Huatang Town was named the "Provincial Model Farm Bookstore" and Liu Dianya from Xiaobu Village in Baohe Yao Township was named the "Provincial Outstanding Farmer Bookstore Administrator".

There are 91 administrative villages in the Beihu District and each administrative village has set up the farmer's bookstores. In recent years, in order to enrich the spiritual and cultural life of the peasants and realize the goal of the peasant masses to learn knowledge and technology through books to improve their quality and understand the world, Beihu District has attached great importance to and vigorously supported the construction of farmer bookstores. According to the villagers' reading needs, they collected opinions extensively, constantly broadened the sources of books, increased books, adjusted the structure of books and increased the utilization rate of the farmer bookstores through the full free opening of the bookstores. They also trained the administrators of farmer bookstores, strengthened the construction of administrators, introduced assessment and evaluation mechanism, improved management system and standardized management behavior. These measures have given full play to the important role of farmer bookstores as a cultural position in promoting the revitalization of rural culture, strengthening the ideological and moral construction and public cultural construction in rural areas.
