Recently, the office of Hunan Provincial Water Resources Department published the list of the 15th batch of provincial water resources scenic spots. 4 scenic spots in the whole province were approved, and Yangdong Reservoir in Zixing City was listed among them.

Yangdong Reservoir Water Conservancy Scenic Spot in Zixing City is adjacent to Dongjiang Lake Tourism Scenic Spot, with a total area of 36k㎡, including land area of 33.57k㎡, water area of 2.43k㎡ and core area of 13.5k㎡, which is a typical reservoir-type water conservancy scenic area. It is rich in hydrological landscape, geographic landscape, astronomical landscape, biological landscape, engineering landscape and human landscape with various coastlines, a wide variety of aquatic and terrestrial plants, and natural conditions for developing characteristic landscapes, which is an important water resources foundation of water resources scenic spots.

According to the introduction, the successful establishment of provincial water resources scenic spots is of great significance for effectively protecting the ecological resources of Yangdong Reservoir, further maintaining the harmonious natural and human environment, upgrading the water resources, water environment, water culture and water scenery of Yangdong Reservoir, and making Yangdong Reservoir develop further.
