On the afternoon of January 7, CPPCC Chairman Li Ping participated in the discussion groups of the CPC and the Women's Federation, and deliberated with the CPPCC members attending the Third Session of the Fifth Chenzhou Municipal Committee of CPPCC on the work report of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC and the report on the work of the proposals.

At the seminar venue, the members expressed their opinions and spoke freely. It was agreed that the work report of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC and the report on the proposal work comprehensively summarized the practice and work experience of the CPPCC in 2018, clarified the objectives and tasks of the CPPCC in 2019, and pointed out the direction for members to perform their duties in the future.

In the past year, the CPPCC has conscientiously carried out political consultation, democratic supervision and participation in politics and deliberation around the central work of the CPC Committee and the government, highlighting new achievements in speeding up the construction of the "Five Chenzhou". The members believed that the proposal work adhered to the central task and served the overall situation, and that the quality, effectiveness and service guarantee of the proposal had been significantly improved, giving full play to the positive role of the proposal work in promoting the economic and social development of the whole city. The members also made suggestions on improving the proposal quality of CPPCC, increasing the propaganda of proposals, tracing key proposals and strengthening the capacity of CPPCC members to perform their functions.

After listening to some members'speeches, Li Ping said that in 2019, the CPPCC work should focus on improving quality and efficiency, earnestly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important ideas on strengthening and improving the work of the CPPCC, especially the spirit of important instructions on the proposal work, regard "focusing on quality and not comparing quantity" as the basic requirement of the CPPCC's work of proposals, realize the transformation from individual proposal to joint proposal of committee activity groups and members, and continuously improve the quality and level of the CPPCC's work to contribute the wisdom and strength to the economic and social development of the whole city.
