Recently, the author learned from the Agricultural Bureau of Beihu District that the vegetable agglomeration area of "Xiangjiang Source" has been successfully selected as the provincial modern agricultural characteristic industry agglomeration area, and has become the only vegetable agglomeration area in Chenzhou.

The planning area of the modern vegetable industry agglomeration area in Beihu District, built in 2014, covers a total area of 120,000 mu, of which 22,000 mu was constructed in the first phase. Up to now, many vegetable enterprises, such as national leading enterprise Yuxiang Noodle Industry, provincial leading enterprise Sanxiang Bacteriology Industry, municipal leading enterprises Sanhe Qiaolong, Guoshan Yao, and Blue Vegetable Science and Technology have entered and many vegetable farmer professional cooperatives, such as Fengling, Daxi, Xiaoxi, Wuxing and Xinzhushan, have been established. These leading enterprises have produced good economic effects by adopting many scientific and technological means such as matrix harmless electric seedling raising, formula balanced fertilization, high ridge plastic film mulching cultivation, vegetable cold chain fresh-keeping and so on. In 2017, the area of vegetable multiple cropping in the agglomeration area was 126 thousand mu, the total output of vegetable reached 256 million kg, the output value of vegetable planting was 594 million yuan, the output value of vegetable processing and circulation was 1.3 billion yuan, the output value of catering consumption was 650 million yuan, the total output value of vegetable industry was 2.54 billion yuan, and the ratio of vegetable industry output value to the total output value of the agglomeration area reached 84.4%.

According to reports, the total planned investment of the agglomeration area is 720 million yuan, and the total planned investment of the agglomeration area will be 187 million yuan in 2019. It will be established and implemented according to the overall layout of "one core, one corridor and two bases". "One core" is the core area, located in Huatang Town, Chenjiang Street and Shigaitang Street, which mainly constructs Beihu Vegetable Science and Technology Innovation Center, cultivates vegetable series processing enterprise cluster, constructs vegetable cold chain logistics center, and constructs modern agricultural comprehensive service center; "One corridor" is vegetable theme leisure corridor; "Two bases" is fresh vegetable direct supply base and characteristic vegetable processing base in Dawan District of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

Zhou Chongzhi, Party Secretary and Director of the Party Committee of the Agricultural Bureau of Beihu District, told the author that Beihu District will focus on building a platform for large-scale business entities, speed up the construction of a standardized and high-quality vegetable base, establish and improve a long-term mechanism for the green development of agriculture, accelerate the development of a large logistics of fresh vegetables directly for Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, focus on cultivating a large vegetable base brand, strive to build the modern agricultural characteristic industrial agglomeration area with "distinctive industrial characteristics, high concentration of elements, advanced facilities and equipment, green production mode, significant economic benefits, strong radiation driven" in Hunan Province. "By 2020, the vegetable planting area will reach 160,000 mu, the output will reach 300,000 tons, the output value of vegetable planting will reach 850 million yuan, the total output value of vegetable industry will reach 3 billion yuan, the per capita income of farmers will increase by more than 3000 yuan, which will directly and indirectly lead to more than 10,000 farmers'employment, and bring about 2,000 local poor households to get out of poverty and become rich." Zhou Chongzhi said.
