Recently, it was learned from the Chenzhou Tobacco Leaf Working Conference that Chenzhou tobacco leaf work ranked first in the provincial assessment, and the city government was rated as an excellent unit of tobacco leaf work by the provincial government. On that day, the spirit of National and Provincial Conference on Tobacco Leaf Work was earnestly studied and the tobacco production in this year was arranged and deployed. Municipal Deputy Secretary Chen Xuechu and Deputy Mayor Chen Rongwei attended the meeting.

In 2018, facing the complex situation of the sharp reduction of the total planned amount of tobacco leaf and the increasing pressure on tobacco farmers'income, the whole city took the initiative to ensure the smooth development of tobacco leaf industry. Last year, the city signed 20,429 planting and purchasing contracts, with an area of 380,000 mu and a tobacco leaf purchasing capacity of 908,000 dan. The average purchase price of the whole city was 1423.26 yuan/dan (excluding subsidies), 35.75 yuan/dan higher than the average level of the whole province. The average purchase price and the quality of tobacco leaves ranked first in the whole province. "Fucheng Golden Leaf" tobacco brand won the "Chenzhou Mayor Quality Award" in 2018. Chenzhou's tobacco leaf scale still ranks first in the whole province under the situation of strict control of the scale and general reduction.

This year, Chenzhou tobacco leaf work will speed up the transformation and upgrading of tobacco leaf industry and promote the development of high quality tobacco leaf around the general requirements of "keeping the redline, stabilizing the scale, highlighting the characteristics, improving quality, building brand and increasing benefits"; strengthen the brand construction of "Fucheng Golden Leaf", seize the commanding points of strong fragrance tobacco leaves, and strive to build a national high-quality core tobacco area. In 2019, the city arranged tobacco planting area of 407,600 mu, and purchased 1.019 million dan of flue-cured tobacco.

The advanced units and individuals in tobacco leaf work of the whole city in 2018 were also commended at the conference.
