In order to meet the actual requirements of environmental monitoring and expand the scope of business, Yongxing County Environmental Monitoring Station upgraded the laboratory in the second half of 2018. After nearly half a year's bidding, laboratory infrastructure renovation, installation and commissioning of new equipment, and training of specialists in laboratory equipment, the new laboratory was put into operation in January 2019.

More than 3.6 million yuan was invested in the upgrading and renovation of the laboratory, including the basic transformation of the laboratory, laboratory ventilation system, gas supply system, laboratory equipment and emergency monitoring equipment acquisition. Four new laboratories of cold atomic mercury analyzer room, ICP-MS room, ion chromatography room and atomic absorption room were added, and special gas cylinder room was equipped. The layout of each functional area was more scientific and reasonable. 57 sets of environmental monitoring equipment, emergency monitoring equipment and protective equipment have been updated. The field monitoring equipment has been fully equipped, and the automation of laboratory monitoring projects has been greatly improved.

The laboratory renovation greatly improved the experimental environment, enhanced operational efficiency, further improved the quality and level of monitoring, and laid a solid foundation for doing well in environmental monitoring under the new situation and providing more comprehensive, detailed and accurate monitoring data for the county environmental quality monitoring.
