On February 18, at the 7th Fourth Standing Council of Hunan Apiculture Association, Guidong County's Supply and Marketing Cooperative was awarded the "Advanced Unit for Targeted Poverty Alleviation of Hunan Apiculture" by Hunan Apiculture Association and awarded a medal.

Chinese bee breeding project is the key poverty alleviation project in Guidong County. Since 2017, the County Supply and Marketing Cooperative Association has led the establishment of the Apiculture Association to help the targeted poverty alleviation work in the whole county, relying on the county beekeeping industry and high-quality sweet osmanthus honey source, vigorously developing bee breeding industry, helping the county to overcome poverty and tackle difficulties, investing 4 million yuan together with the Yangtianxia Mountain Products Group, purchasing more than 6000 boxes of bee species, implementing the combination of centralized and decentralized breeding, and providing three boxes of bee seeds for 500 poor households in the county free of charge. The company has also built 30 breeding demonstration bases to centralize entrusted aquaculture for poor households, supporting 2000 people of 1039 households, increasing the per capita income of poor people by more than 1,000 yuan. At the same time, the county has actively carried out the declaration work of "Hometown of Honey in China". After written declaration, strict examination, expert field investigation and evaluation, and on-site statement and defense, the county passed the evaluation of Apiculture Expert Group of China Bee Product Association on December 7, 2018, and won the title of "Hometown of Chinese Wild Osmanthus Honey in China".

In order to promote the sustainable and healthy development of apiculture industry, the Guidong Supply and Marketing Cooperative focused on the County Apiculture Association, hired experts to give technical guidance to its members'apiaries, enabled the county apiculture industry to obtain technical guarantee, ensured the healthy development of the county's apiculture industry, and made positive contributions to creating a unique brand of "Guidong Wild Osmanthus Honey".
