In order to popularize mineral gemstones knowledge and promote scientific civilization, the launch ceremony of the 2019 Chenzhou Mineral Gemstone Knowledge Popularization Month was held in Yongquan Primary School on the afternoon of 20th. The event was sponsored by Chenzhou Convention and Exhibition Bureau and Chenzhou Education Bureau, aiming to enrich the extracurricular knowledge of teenagers in our city, popularize the knowledge of mineral gemstones in geosciences, let children better understand mineral gems and feel the magic of natural gems, jointly promote mineral gems culture, and make the honor of "World Non-ferrous Metals Museum" and "City of Ornamental Stones and Mineral Crystals in China" go deep into the primary and middle school students in the city. Vice Mayor Zhou Hailin, Chen Shezhao, Former Chairman of the CPPCC and Executive Director of the Municipal Cares for the Next Generation Working Committee, and Zhong Liuhua, Former Political Committee of the Chenzhou Military Region and President of the Chenzhou Ornamental Stone and Jade Association, attended the event.

At the event, Chen Shezhao, Former Chairman of the CPPCC and Executive Director of the Municipal Cares for the Next Generation Working Committee, wished to open a window for children to recognize mineral gemstones and let them feel the natural beauty, artistic beauty, scientific beauty and cultural beauty of Chenzhou mineral gemstones in the process of popular science learning and close experience. She hoped that students could shoulder the important task of realizing the "Chinese Dream" entrusted by the times, make use of the existing platform, strive to improve ideological quality, inherit and develop excellent traditional culture, enhance cultural self-confidence, establish a broad vision, stimulate interest in natural science, expand understanding of natural resources, enhance appreciation of natural arts, and thus enhance the awareness of protecting the environment and resources.

At the launching ceremony, Zheng Jianlong, a famous collector of minerals and gems and General Manager of Chenzhou International Mineral and Gemstone Exposition Co., Ltd., gave the students an on-site popular science course. The study of this popular science course made students to have a better understanding of mineral gems, and enriched the students' knowledge of mineral gems through the forms of on-site mutual questions and answers.

According to the reporter, during the "Mineral and Gemstone Knowledge Popularization Month" activities, there will be a variety of activities such as theme class meetings, experts lectures of mineral crystal, and "My Mineral Crystal Stories" theme essay contest in primary and secondary schools in the city. At the same time, primary and secondary school students and parents will be organized to visit the Mineral and Gemstone Exhibition Hall to teach students the mineral gemstone knowledge. During the 7th CMGS, little volunteer activities will be organized to provide volunteer services for this year's show in Chenzhou City.
