Recently, Jiang Xuguang, Vice Minister of Water Resources, came to Yizhang County to investigate the construction of Mangshan Reservoir. Yan Xuemao, Director of Water Resources Department of Hunan Province, Chen Rongwei, Vice Mayor of Chenzhou and Wang Jianqiu, Secretary of Yizhang County Party Committee, took part in the investigation.

Mangshan Reservoir is a large-scale hydro-junction project with flood control and irrigation as its main purpose and comprehensive utilization of urban water supply and power generation. The reservoir has a normal storage level of 395 meters, a flood control high level of 398.5 meters, a total storage capacity of 133 million cubic meters and an installed capacity of 18 thousand kilowatts. On March 6, the water storage ceremony of Mangshan Reservoir Project was held and officially launched the sluice on March 11. By March 19, 15:00, the water level of the reservoir had reached 342.3 meters, the water level had risen by 29.1 meters, and the storage capacity had reached 11.986 million cubic meters.

Jiang Xuguang and his party inspected the construction and operation of Mangshan Reservoir, and listened in detail to reports on the general situation of the reservoir, engineering characteristics, quality control measures, resettlement of immigrants, and innovation highlights.

Jiang fully affirmed the construction work of Mangshan Reservoir and believed that the organization and leadership of Yizhang County Committee, county government and competent departments were strong, the site management of the project was in place, and the construction quality, progress and safety were well controlled.

He required that we should strictly supervise, pay attention to the safety management, strengthen the quality control in the project construction, and make further efforts to make the remaining projects well constructed; should firmly establish the concept of ecological priority and green development, formulate ecological restoration programs, continuously strengthen the construction of ecological civilization, and give full play to the social, ecological and economic benefits of water conservancy projects.
