Anren County held a conference on investment promotion and expert consultation of Chinese medicine industry in 2019, and successfully signed 9 projects with a total investment of 1.4 billion yuan. Huang Huiyong, Deputy Party Secretary and Deputy Director of the Provincial Health Commission, and the Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Cao Wenzhong, Deputy President of China Economic Information Service of Xinhua News Agency, Zhang Chunbao, Deputy President of Hunan Branch of Xinhua News Agency, Wang Heping, Municipal Standing Committee and Minister of the United Front Department of the Municipal Committee, Li Xiaojun, Deputy Secretary of the Anren County Committee, and Li Jianjun, Deputy Secretary of the County Committee and County Magistrate, and nearly 60 pharmaceutical enterprises participated in relevant activities.

Before the meeting, the expert group visited Shennong Baicao Garden, Lingguan Kuiyuan Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Park, Xiangzhong Pharmaceutical Industry, Rice Field Park, Shennong Hall and Shitouba Chinese Herbal Medicine Trading Market to get a better understanding of the planting scale and industrial development of Chinese medicine in Anren County.

At the forum, the expert group watched the promotional film of Anren County's TCM industry project investment promotion; Li Jianjun, Deputy Secretary of the County Party Committee and County Governor, delivered a speech and introduced the development of Anren County's TCM industry. In recent years, Anren County has deeply excavated Shennong medical culture, initially established a modern Chinese medicine industry system which centralized the cultivation, processing, circulation and health tourism of medicinal materials, and formed a good situation for the integration and development of First, Second and Third Industries of health industry. Anren County currently has 230,000 mu of Chinese herbal medicines, and the main varieties of Chinese herbal medicines include Fructus Aurantii, Xianglian, Aiye, Gardenia jasminoides, Xiancao, Chrysanthemum, Paeonia lactiflora and more than 130 kinds, including 80,000 mu of Fructus Aurantii, more than 100,000 mu of protected area of wild herbal medicines, more than 50,000 mu of other herbal medicines; there are more than 20 demonstration bases of Chinese herbal medicines planting, and 2 leading enterprises of Chinese herbal medicine agriculture at provincial and municipal levels. "Anren Fructus Aurantii" has been certified by National Geographic Indicators and authentic medicinal products. "Xiangzhong" and "Shennongfu" brands of TCM have become famous.

The experts said that the development of TCM has been paid more and more attention, and the development potential of health industry is huge. Anren should develop the culture of TCM, standardize TCM and build the brand of TCM with Anren characteristics. The leaders of the participating enterprises expressed their strong willingness to invest and cooperate in Anren County's TCM industry. At the same time, they put forward their opinions and suggestions on how to build a good brand of TCM in Anren County, do a good job in brand building, precision marketing, fine processing, attracting investment, build a propaganda platform, and establish relevant preferential policies.

Huang Huiyong pointed out at the meeting that in order to carry forward the culture of TCM, we should have the spirit of innovation and dedication of Shennong tasting herbs first, unswervingly develop the characteristic industry of TCM, insist on the coordinated development of TCM, and firmly develop the whole industry chain of TCM in an all-round way.

Wang Heping stressed at the meeting that the development of Anren Chinese medicinal materials has good momentum, good platform and good prospects. He hoped that the Anren County Party Committee and county government would study and implement the opinions and suggestions put forward by experts and enterprise leaders well. We should fully carry forward the spirit of openness and tolerance, seek truth and innovation, deepen reform and actively create a good business environment; should effectively change the work concept and work mode, optimize process, improve efficiency, and provide a good environment for the development and expansion of the project. At the investment promotion, 9 projects were signed, with a total investment of 1.4 billion yuan. Among them, Anren County Government and China Economic Information Service of Xinhua News Agency signed a cooperation agreement on "Xinhua-Anren Price Index of Fructus aurantii". China Economic Information Service will play the advantages in data collection and information dissemination, Anren County will rely on the solid foundation of the Fructus aurantii industry, and the two sides will work together to compile and publish the price index of Fructus aurantii. The index will continue to focus on the origin market, accurately depict the general trend of price changes of Fructus aurantii, provide objective and transparent information channels for the government, enterprises and growers, and help the stable and healthy development of Fructus aurantii industry.
