Hou Gengyuan's Chinese Painting Exhibition was held in Yifeng Yaji Art Museum of Beihu Park recently, sponsored by Chenzhou Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, Yifeng Yaji Art Museum and Anren County Literature and Art Association.

Hou Gengyuan, a native of Zhushan Town, Anren County, graduated from the Department of Fine Arts of Chenzhou Teachers College and later taught at the Academy of Fine Arts of Sichuan Institute of Technology. After resigning in 2010, he established the Zhushan Tang, specializing in calligraphy, painting and seal carving, and disseminating traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy. He is currently the President of Taoxi Academy of Calligraphy and Painting in Sichuan Province and a member of the Character Painting Committee of Sichuan Association of Fine Arts.

Hou Gengyuan combined his piety and special research of Song Dynasty paintings, his love and micro-observation for natural objects with his perception of the years and profound painting skills to paint many works of flowers and birds, vegetables and fruits, and cordyceps with full of spirituality and human nature, showing their own temperament. Each bird and cordycep conveys his inner voice, makes people yearn for nature, and looks for a peaceful attitude towards life.

Hou Gengyuan's flower, bird, vegetable and fruit paintings on display were all his best works in the past two years. "Such kindness of warm sun, can't be repaid by grass." In fact, it was also the main theme of Hou Gengyuan's exhibition.

The painting exhibition attracted many citizens came to visit on the first day of exhibition. It was understood that the exhibition will be exhibited in the Yifeng Yaji Art Museum of Beihu Park until April 28, and the public can enjoy the exhibition free of charge.
