On the afternoon of April 18, a seminar on the development of cultural tourism in Yuhou Street and the Exhibition Outline of Yuhou Street Cultural Museum was held. Relevant experts and scholars were invited to give suggestions to realize the sustainable and long-term development of Yuhou Street.

At the meeting, the development of Yuhou Street and the "Exhibition Outline of Yuhou Street Cultural Museum" (draft for comments) were heard. Around Yuhou Street planning and future development, more than 20 experts and scholars put forward many opinions and suggestions on further tapping local characteristic culture, improving cultural taste, paying attention to coordination between ancient streets and red tourism, increasing publicity and promotion, and creating cultural tourism brand effect.

Yuhou Street is a livelihood project built by Chenzhou City. The original plan covers an area of 180 mu, with a total building area of 170,000 square meters and a total investment of more than 800 million yuan. It is divided into three parts: core transformation area, supporting construction area and coordinated development area. The core renovation area mainly resolves the housing problem of residents by relocation and resettlement; the supporting construction area is a comprehensive commercial building integrating culture, leisure, consumption, entertainment, catering and accommodation, as well as a theatre and performing arts center in southern Hunan. At present, the follow-up engineering projects in the supporting and coordinated development zones are being developed and constructed.

The Yuhou Street Cultural Museum to be built will display the cultural history, legends, historical relics, ancient street features, folk customs, commercial culture and other elements to the public and tourists through the form of museums. The exhibition space can be divided into six parts: traceable exhibition area, commercial trade exhibition area, historical relics exhibition area, cultural relics and antiques exhibition area, cultural heritage exhibition area, ancient street new exhibition and so on. After its completion, the museum will serve as a humanistic space for cultural heritage, cultural practice, cultural tourism and experience, and the tourists can visit and study regularly, and participate in matching cultural practice and experience activities.

"Through attracting investment and gathering a number of cultural enterprises, Yuhou Street will be built into a cultural creation base." Guo Xianyang, Party Secretary of Hunan Construction Investment Group, said that Yuhou Street should fully explore and carry forward the culture of southern Hunan and the spirit of Chenzhou city through unified planning, operation and management, with culture as its soul, commerce as its leading role and tourism as its carrier, so that Yuhou Street can truly become a "city living room" of prosperous Chenzhou and a "city business card" of external publicity.
