On April 23, it was learned that the Jiulongjiang National Forest Park was awarded the honorary title of "National Key Construction Base for Forest Experience and Forest Health" by Forest Tourism Management Office of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, which became the only forest park in Chenzhou City to win this honor.

It was understood that the assessment began in April 2018. In order to promote the healthy development of forest experience and forest health regulation, the Forest Tourism Management Office of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, on the basis of summing up the national forest experience and the pilot construction of forest health base, determined the list of key national construction bases for forest experience and forest healthy through the selection of recommended bases of provinces (districts and municipalities) and the examination and approval of experts. The purpose of the base construction was to speed up the construction of high-quality forest experience and forest healthy products that meet social needs, guide the healthy development of new forest tourism formats, and meet the diverse outdoor recreational needs of the public.

Jiulongjiang National Forest Park, located in the southeast of Rucheng County, Hunan Province, has a total area of 8436.3 hectares, with a forest coverage of 97.4% and a forest stock of 1.15 million cubic meters, is a typical primitive ecological area with well-preserved species resources and genetic genes in South China.

Jiulongjiang National Forest Park was approved as a National Forest Park in 2009, and was selected as the third batch of "China Forest Oxygen Bar" in 2017, with the reputation of "Plant Kingdom in Nanling, First Oxygen Bar in the South China". In recent years, Rucheng County has firmly established the concept of "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", followed the principle of "strict protection, scientific planning, unified management, rational utilization and coordinated development", standardized the development and construction projects by overall planning, and made precise efforts in protecting forest resources, planning functional layout scientifically, promoting ecological environmental protection projects, and enhancing tourism quality to promote the benign integration of tourism development and ecological protection.
