Recently, at the opening ceremony of Hunan (Chenzhou) Energy Saving and Emission Reduction and New Energy Industry Expo（CESEXPO）in 2019, Reshui Town of Rucheng County was awarded "National Economical Public Institution Demonstration Unit in 2018", which was another national honor for the town after it won the titles of "National Environmental Elegant Town", "National Key Town", "National Beautiful Livable Town", "National Livable Residential Areas", "National Characteristic Landscape Tourism Town", "National Water Conservancy Scenic Area", "National Town Planning Demonstration Town", and "The First Batch of Small Towns with Chinese Characteristic".

In recent years, in accordance with the "Regulations on Energy Conservation in Public Institutions", Reshui Town has improved its energy management system, vigorously promoted and used new energy sources, new products and new technologies, innovated its energy-saving management mode, strengthened publicity and education, made great efforts to improve its energy-saving management level, and invested funds in water-saving and electricity-saving renovations in the courtyards, offices and housing of cadres and workers of the town government.

In 2018, the overall energy consumption per capita and energy consumption per unit building area of the town decreased by more than 2.5 percent and water consumption by more than 4 percent compared with the previous year. The comprehensive per capita energy consumption index, per unit building area energy consumption index and per capita water resources consumption index of office buildings were much lower than the average of the province.
