The establishment of the Chenzhou Yi Culture Research Association and the first general assembly were held in Zhuyuan Hotel, which also marked the formal establishment of the Chenzhou Yi Culture Research Association.

The purpose and significance of the establishment of Chenzhou Yi Culture Research Association is to further strengthen and deepen the study of Chenzhou Yi culture, vigorously excavate the Yi culture, inherit and carry forward the spirit of Yi culture, create the brand of "Yi" culture, build "Hometown of Yi Culture in China", and give full play to the role of research associations as think tanks in researching and developing the history and culture, holding memorial service for Yidi, restoring and declaring intangible cultural heritage, carrying out academic exchanges, protecting cultural heritage, promoting cultural spread, promoting the healthy development of local tourism and temple fair culture, assisting Municipal Committee and municipal government in building national historical and cultural city, etc.

At the meeting, the delegates deliberated and adopted the "Constitution of the Chenzhou Yi Culture Research Association", and defined the purpose of the association to study and advocate the Yi culture, promote Chinese civilization, explore and study the relevant historical materials of the Yi cultural phenomena, and enrich the connotation of the Yi culture in the Chinese national spirit. At the meeting, the members, standing members, chairmen, vice-chairmen and secretary-general of the Research Association were elected, and the names of honorary chairmen, honorary advisers and special researchers were announced.
