Recently, Liu Zhiren, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor, led a team to conduct river cruise along the Chenjiang River, and stressed that we should fully implement Xi Jinping's thought of ecological civilization to promote industrial development, implement the river chief system in an all-round way, manage and control the source well, strengthen fine management, and handled the law in accordance with the regulations to protect the mother river of the Chenzhou people well.

In the hot summer, Liu Zhiren and his party walked along the Chenjiang River from Yuhou Street to the lower reaches of the Oil Bridge for nearly two hours. Along the way, Liu Zhiren checked the water quality of the Chenjiang River from time to time, carefully inspected the river cleaning, engineering wastewater entering the river, rainwater and sewage diversion, black and odorous water treatment and municipal drainage facilities, and handed over the problems found in the river patrol.

At the junction of Yanquan River and Chenjiang River, Liu Zhiren found that the water quality in the reach was turbid and the domestic sewage was discharged directly. Liu Zhiren then urged the relevant responsible persons of urban management accompanying him to find out the source of water pollution quickly, rectify and put in place in time, and resolutely investigate and punish the illegal discharge of sewage.

During the tour, Liu Zhiren pointed out that the Chenjiang River is the mother river of the Chenzhou people. It is the responsibilities and obligations of every citizen to protect the ecological environment of the Chenjiang River. We should strengthen the control over the pollution sources of the Chenjiang River and resolutely prevent the direct discharge of domestic sewage, catering sewage and engineering wastewater into the Chenjiang River to pollute the Chenjiang River; should strengthen fine management, innovate working methods, further improve the working mechanism of river cleaning, fully implement the river chief system, intensify the inspection, deal with the problems found in the inspection in time, and eliminate the hidden dangers of environmental safety in time; should strengthen the education, guidance and management of merchants along the rivers, strictly punish disorderly disposal, ban illegal businesses along the Chenjiang River and discharge pollutants in accordance with the law, strengthen the education and management of "three responsibilities in the gate area" of merchants, start from small things, start from side things, create a good environment and jointly protect the Chenjiang River.
