On March 19, Zixing City held the Design Scheme Review Meeting on protecting the 4th batch of traditional villages. Luo Chenghui, Deputy Secretary of Zixing Municipal Committee and Mayor, participated in the meeting.

Heads of the relevant units and villages and towns (streets) reported on the protection of traditional villages in Zixing City, and discussed and exchanged on promoting the protection of traditional villages.

In recent years, 6 villages in Sandu Town of Zixing City, including Chenggangling Village, Liuhuawan Village, Zhongtian Village, Shigu Village, Xingtang Village and Xinao Village, have successfully declared the list of the 4th batch of traditional villages in China, and received 18 million yuan of subsidies from the central government.

The meeting emphasized that we should implement the planning and management of traditional village protection, optimize the industrial structure of village culture, and provide the corresponding policy support; should plan and manage scientifically, define the scope and focus of protection, classify ancient dwellings according to their cultural connotation and cultural value, repair them based on the current situation and preserve historical traces, and restore the spiritual features of ancient buildings as far as possible; should make scientific designs and plans for the protection of traditional villages, set up expert committees, and provide scientific guarantee for village renovation and subsequent management issues; should optimize the industrial structure of traditional village culture, combine utilization with protection, give full play to the industrial value of ancient villages, explore cultural connotations and form cultural highlights; should adhere to government-led and multi-party participation. The government should do a good job of top-level design, not only go through the relevant approval procedures in accordance with the law and regulations, but also provide policy support in accordance with local conditions. The Cultural Tourism Bureau should take the lead, and the government, experts and towns should cooperate with each other.

Luo Chenghui emphasized that we should make overall planning and classified guidance for the protection of traditional villages; should make careful design, fine construction, inherit culture and prevent secondary injury in the renovation work; should strictly protect the traditional villages, rationally develop them, and combine them with the rural revitalization; should take the lead of the government, involve villagers, mobilize villagers' enthusiasm, establish villagers' awareness of protecting their homes, and develop cultural industries and tourism highlights while protecting traditional culture, so as to promote the development of tourism.
