Reporters learned from the County Hydropower Company that Yongxing first-class hydropower station and Yongxing second-class hydropower station have made rapid progress in the establishment of green small hydropower stations. Many indicators are in line with the "green" standard, and two hydropower stations are expected to be evaluated as "Green Small Hydropower Stations".

The establishment of "Green Small Hydropower Station" is an activity initiated by the State Ministry of Water Resources in 2017. The aim of the activity is to upgrade the quality and efficiency in an all-round way, and take the road of sustainable development with friendly ecological environment, harmonious society, reasonable economy and standardized management by encouraging a number of green "demonstrations", and driving the small hydropower industry to accelerate the transformation of development mode.

It was understood that Yongxing first-class and second-class hydropower stations belong to the fifth cascade of Leishui River Basin, a tributary of Xiangjiang River. In recent years, the two stations have made fruitful efforts and explorations in river management, ecological improvement, environmental protection and serving local economic and social development.

At present, the key indicators of installed capacity, multi-year average power generation, reservoir capacity, regulation performance, and ecological discharge, monitoring facilities and operation of the two hydropower stations have reached the "Green Small Hydropower Station" standard. The establishment of the declaration work is nearing the end and will enter the provincial preliminary inspection stage.
