Recently, the seminar on sustainable utilization and green development of water resources in Chenzhou City was held in Chenzhou Hydrological Bureau. Leaders and experts from the International Economic and Technological Exchange Center of the Ministry of Commerce, the United Nations Development Programme, Beijing Normal University, the Institute of Water Environment of the China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, the Hunan Hydrological and Water Resources Survey Center and other departments attended the seminar.

At the seminar, experts had extensive and in-depth exchanges on water resources utilization, water environment control, soil and water conservation, ecological industry development, water-saving society, water-saving city construction, scientific and technological innovation support and other issues in Chenzhou City around three key points of water conservation, water control and water use.

 
Through this seminar, the International Economic and Technological Exchange Center of the Ministry of Commerce, the United Nations Development Programme have a preliminary understanding of the actual needs of Chenzhou City in terms of water resources utilization and water environment treatment. Chenzhou City can provide a practical model and typical experience for the sustainable utilization of water resources in the world, and will help Chenzhou City to build a national sustainable development agenda innovation demonstration area in many aspects. Through field investigation and visit, the expert group fully affirmed the hydrological work of Chenzhou City and put forward suggestions for the follow-up work.

In May 2019, Chenzhou City was approved to build the national sustainable development agenda innovation demonstration area. As a demonstration area with the theme of "sustainable utilization and green development of water resources", water resources will be the top priority. How to make water resources "sustainable utilization" to achieve green, high-efficiency and high-quality development? Hydrological departments should take the initiative to provide services and provide comprehensive technical support. Liu Yunpeng, Director of Chenzhou Municipal Bureau of Hydrology, said that in the next step, they will combine the actual situation of Chenzhou's hydrology and water resources, adhere to the concept of sustainable utilization and green development of water resources, have high standard stations, make scientific plans, serve the construction of Chenzhou's national sustainable development agenda innovation demonstration area, and strive to promote Chenzhou's high-quality development.
