On December 14, the 2019 national navigation model open competition (Chenzhou station) was held in the Siqing Lake National Science and Technology Sports Comprehensive Base in the Beihu District. Cao Zhengke, member of the Standing Committee of the District Committee and Propaganda Minister, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a welcome speech. Deputy District Chief Zhou Kan, presided over the opening ceremony.

 Cao Zhengke said in his speech that the hosting of this navigation model open was a window to show the development of sports in Beihu District and was conducive to promoting the vigorous development of sports in the whole district.

 This competition was sponsored by the aviation radio model sports management center of the General Administration of Sport and China Navigation Model Sports Association. It had three groups: open group, youth water area group and youth pool group, as well as 23 projects such as standard level endurance rally and mini level electric triangle race. It aimed to further promote the popularization and development of navigation model events in China and gradually improve navigation social awareness of the model movement.

16 teams from 7 provinces and more than 200 athletes attended the competition. It was reported that No.9 Middle School won 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 copper in the competition.

Siqing Lake Youth Outside Activity Center has successfully held four Chenzhou primary and secondary school model games. In July 2017, it was awarded the "National Science and Technology Sports Comprehensive Base" by the aviation radio model sports management center of the General Administration of Sports of China.

"The navigation model sports can not only enhance the knowledge of navigation science and technology of the players, but also cultivate their quality of brave exploration and good creation, and further promote the higher, faster and stronger spirit of science and technology sports." Person in charge of Hunan Sports Bureau said.
