Recently, Chenzhou City held the unveiling ceremony of "glorious traditional education base of nuclear geology and mines" and "patriotism education base of Chenzhou City" for 711 meritorious uranium mine of nuclear industry. Xu Kaiyun, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of China National Uranium, and Liu Zhiren, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou City opened the unveiling ceremony for the education base.

As the first large-scale uranium mine discovered and explored in China, 71 meritorious uranium mine of nuclear industry has made outstanding contributions to the success of the first atomic bomb explosion and the national defense cause of "two bombs and one satellite". In June 2018, it was awarded the "industrial cultural heritage (nuclear industry) of central enterprises" by SASAC of the State Council; in October 2019, it was awarded the "8th batch of national key cultural relics protection units" by the State Council.

Chenzhou City has always attached great importance to the traditional education of red revolution. In order to make better use of the red resources, carry forward the red tradition and inherit the red gene, Chenzhou City has carried out the listing management, built the patriotism education base into an important position for the majority of Party members, cadres and the masses to understand the history of the party, the new China and the history of the nuclear industry, made the base an important course for patriotism education and revolutionary tradition education, and cultivated and practiced the socialist core values. After the ceremony, they visited the 711 meritorious uranium mine exhibition hall, show hall and part of the former sites.
