Recently, the author learned from Guidong County Tourism Service Center that in 2019, the number of tourist reception in the county increased by 15.02 percent year on year, and the comprehensive tourism income increased by 16.01 percent year on year.

In recent years, Guidong County has established the development concept of "panoramic Guidong, global tourism, and national happiness", focusing on the five aspects of lucid waters and lush mountains, negative oxygen ion, red culture, simple folk customs, and green food; has successively built 10 "Daily Tour" boutique tourism routes, 7 rural tourism demonstration villages (spots), and 12 townships (fields) with a total of 402 farmhouses, rural summer resorts and boutique homestays.

In 2015, Guidong County was awarded the title of the first "Pilot County for Global Tourism Development"; in 2016, it was listed as the first batch of "National Global Tourism Demonstration County (District)" founders, and awarded the "Best Summer Resort in 2016"; in 2017, it was listed as the "Demonstration County for Tourism Poverty Alleviation in Hunan Province"; in 2019, it was awarded the "Summer Tourism Destination". In 2018 and 2019, it was listed in the "List of the Most Beautiful Counties in China" for two consecutive years; the county's ecological health tourism resources were listed in the "2018 China Tourism Good Resource Discovery List"; Qiyunfeng National Forest Park was awarded "China Forest Oxygen Bar".

This year, tourism industry, especially ecotourism, is becoming an important industry leading the economic and social development of the county, and the development will continue to extend.
