Recently, the province's forestry work teleconference was held and Chenzhou City was awarded the "Xianglin Cup" forestry construction goal management assessment winner in 2019, ranking the third in the province's 14 cities and prefectures.

In 2019, Chenzhou City adhered to the ecological priority and green development path, closely focused on the work idea of "forest optimization, wetland quality improvement, urban and rural green, industrial efficiency, management and service excellence", and insisted in the institutional reform.

First of all, Chenzhou City has vigorously carried out afforestation to improve the forest quality. In the whole year, the city has completed 255,000 mu of artificial afforestation, accounting for 102 percent of the provincial tasks; completed the construction of more than 30 forest ecological landscape forest demonstration sites and 30 beautiful rural demonstration villages. Secondly, the city has strengthen the wetland protection and management, and the beautiful wetland appears in an all-round way; strengthened the follow-up maintenance and management of 5 provincial pilot projects of returning farmland to forest and wetland, taken the lead in the construction of small and micro wetland pilot projects in Chongling National Wetland Park in Guiyang, to make the wetland protection rate of the whole city stable at over 72.1 percent. Moreover, the city has carried out the rural ecological revitalization with remarkable achievements in rural greening, comprehensively promoted the rural ecological revitalization project, and completed the construction of 218 beautiful courtyards. In the national rural greening and beautification seminar, our city, as the only prefecture level city representative, made a typical speech at the meeting.

Chenzhou City has also focused on high-quality development and improved the quality and efficiency of the forestry industry; vigorously developed four major forestry industries of forest tourism and forest health, bamboo and wood processing, forest economy and oil tea, with the total forestry output value of 43.028 billion yuan, an increase of 8.51 percent year on year. Finally, the city has paid attention to the forest protection work and the optimization and upgrading of management service level.
