On March 2nd, the novel coronavirus pneumonia 3D model novel coronavirus pneumonia was successfully printed in the 3D medical printing center of Chenzhou First People's Hospital south hospital. This is the first novel coronavirus pneumonia 3D model in Hunan Province, which is used for clinical guidance and treatment.
It was understood that this 3D model shows the whole lung condition of a novel coronavirus pneumonia patient at the time of admission. At present, the patient's vital signs are stable after treatment. Subsequently, the medical staff will further evaluate the patient's condition and adjust the treatment plan according to the 3D model.
"The color 3D model is more vivid than the CT image, in which the green, yellow and red parts are the patient's lung lobes, and the blue part is the focus. By calculating the volume of the focus by computer, we can provide more accurate data for clinical use, which is more accurate, more three-dimensional and more intuitive than the CT image."
He Yucheng, Deputy Director of the Imaging Medical Center of Chenzhou First People's Hospital, said that after the doctor submits the imaging data and specifies the 3D printing requirements, and the imaging data evaluation meets the requirements, it could be modeled by computer 3D. Later, it could upgrade the model in time according to clinical requirements, and finally perform 3D printing task. It should take 20 hours to make a new 3D model. Although the time is long and the cost is relatively high, it provides a more accurate basis for medical staff to adjust the treatment plan, and also provides a basis for medical research exchange in the future.
