Recently, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration has released the first and second batch of national forest villages list. Chenzhou City has 34 villages on the list, and Gaolongqiao Village, Baishidu Town, Yizhang County has been honored on the list.

On the basis of recommendation by the competent forestry and grassland authorities at the county level and evaluation and publicity by the competent forestry and grassland authorities at the provincial level, the national forest village is determined by the State Forestry and Grassland Administration on the basis of the evaluation standard achieved by the rural greening and beautification through the comprehensive evaluation of the 25 project indicators in six aspects, including the protection of the natural ecological features of the villages, the management of the landscape, the forest, the land, the lake and the grass system, the construction of the forest green land, the forest quality and efficiency, the management and protection of the rural greening, and the rural ecological culture. The units identified as national forest villages can make and use national forest and village plaques in accordance with the National Forest and Grassland Administration's national forest and village signs and slogans, and give priority to the policies related to the improvement of rural human settlements and afforestation.

Gaolongqiao Village is located in the east of Baishidu Town, Yizhang County, covering an area of 7.2 square kilometers, 65 hectares of cultivated land and 350 hectares of forest land. The green coverage rate of the whole village is 98 percent, and there are rich tourism resources.
